Whenever you go on a trip to a Theme Park or attraction in the UK the one thing that could hold you back from going is the price of tickets and spending in the park. Our team on MM have had many years of theme park experience and know how to save you money and plan a trip, so we have put together a guide to save you the most money on your trip.
Ticket prices for theme parks are very high at some parks, there is a reason for this. The park does need more money to pay for new attractions and maintenance. But if you want to save money from the £35+ tickets you can. Buy your tickets online and print them at home to save time and money as most tickets are nearly £10 cheaper online. There are also some really good deals on the Parks website. If you shop at Tesco use your Clubcard points to save you money on entrance prices. Look out for offers in newspapers such as the Sun, most of the time around the start of the season there will be many 2 for 1’s and free tickets available. If you are going to visit the parks in the Merlin Entertainments Group more than once you may want to buy a Merlin Annual pass to save you money and get unlimited entry for 12 months to all Merlin parks. (Subject to current Merlin T&C’s).
To get to the park you have two options, drive there yourself and park, a few parks charge a car park fee which is around £5, this is the best way if you are in a large group/family or spending more than one day at the park. The other way is to get dropped off or catch one of the coaches to the park from a nearby town after you have got there by train.
Once you have got to the park and have paid for the entrance, you will still need
Food and Drink which are expensive, to save money on food eat at Park Restaurants
(Annual Pass holders receive discounts in park run outlets), they are cheaper and
better quality than fast food. If you want you can bring in your own drinks. On-
So, after your day at a theme park you may be thinking that was really expensive, well it is not if you think of the amount of fun you have had. If you want to, some parks offer ‘come back tomorrow for less’ tickets if you want to come back again the next day. So remember it is a fun day out for not much money really. Just enjoy yourself as that is what theme parks are all about.
