Only a few weeks ago full plans for Secret Weapon Seven were released, a multi-looping
and duelling Roller coaster from Gerstlauer rides, designed for the site where the
iconic black hole once stood. The new Roller coaster will open in 2013, and hopefully
bring a new lease of life to the X-Sector area. However, this might not be the first
step of the changes to X-Sector, as two of the three rides in the area will not operate
in 2012. Submission and Enterprise, two flat rides set in the footprint of Oblivion
have always received fairly negative reactions, and now they are set to close. It
is unknown whether these rides will re-open in 2013, along with the new Roller coaster,
or if they will be removed. The motives behind the closure is also currently unknown,
with possible reasoning from the parks cut to operating budget. X-Sector will also
be very busy next year, with construction teams building a new Roller coaster, and
the two rides closing could give workers more space to construct SW7. There are also
rumours the rides have already been removed.
