Forbidden Valley is the home of thrill at Alton Towers with the mighty Nemesis and
the peaceful Air. Along with the smaller thrillers Ripsaw and Blade. Originally called
Thunder Valley the area had a re-
Nemesis Europe first multi looper suspended coaster. Built in the closed season of 1993 and opened in the same year, this crazy looping coaster has all the thrill and excitement of a racing car. Nearly hitting rocks, tight tunnels, sharp turns and long loops makes for one awesome ride. Made by B&M this suspended coaster was the first in Europe at a cost of £11 million pounds. After nearly 17 years of being open this ride still has all the power and fun as it did 17 years ago.
Air the worlds first Flying coaster, Built in 2002 this £12 Million pound monster swoops you through the air. The worlds first idea of Air was in the making for nearly 8 years until in 2001 the construction of Air began. The worlds first flying coaster were you start of by turning to a horizontal superman position in the station and then flying around the track like a bird.
Spinning around up and down all around just says Ripsaw all over it. Ripsaw was installed in the valley in 1998 and has been a huge hit ever since. In the summer you could get wet as the water jet’s squirt you as you are going round. And most times each ride is different.
Swooping back and forward like a ship, Blade is a themed pirate ship ride which was
in the old Fantasy Land before it was re-

New for 2012. The story of Nemesis is back with a new twist.
